With everything going better about him, Jiang Shanqing has kind of sunk into a total freedom, no matter in his art of life or life of art. Actually there’s no clear line between art and life as the experience of the former generates right from that of the latter, namely its fundamental background. The work represents an opening state of the artist’s being, just like Jiang’ new ink works symbolizing another unnoticeable transformation of him, who neither repeats nor gets content with himself. Shanqing has been totally immersed in the great joy of creation beyond the media bound of paper, and every time he presents an album crystallizing his new discovery and acquisition, it would definitely catch the eyes of the whole circle. It’s really stunning how skillfully he manages the media and tool, and what an abstract visual tension he creates. His works get more elegant in quality and vaster in illusion of space; however they never leave out the scent of eastern world.
