在中国，在我们这个时代，幸于有了蒋山青在水墨领域的努力开拓，事实上才可以说终结了关于中国画穷途末路的末日之说。

　　Thanks to the exploration Jiang has devoted to the ink arts, we could actually close up the saying that Chinese paintings were facing an extremely difficult state in China in our times.

　　师出名门的蒋山青，三十年的艺术创作始终牢牢把握了一个正确的传统体系的修为，无论书法、篆刻、中国画及文学，都正统地延续了中华文化以及中国艺术的主脉而行。这些特质极其宝贵，是一味西式的艺术家所不具备的。然而，蒋山青在很扎实的传统根基上不落旧套，在现代语境中打通东西文化隔阂，无所畏惧地展现其艺术才华。他试图在材质上强化水墨的力量，张扬视觉的冲击度。他到中亚的孟加拉国寻找黄麻用作绘画材料来实践和实现他对作品厚度的一种幻想。在艺术创作中随意将揉碎的汉画和竹简文字拿来变成现代图式，他所展示出的艺术气质古今贯通，神气完然。

　　Following a master, Jiang always centered his creation on a right traditional system for thirty years. He comes down the main line of Chinese civilization and arts with his works of calligraphy, seal cutting, Chinese paintings and literature. These features are extremely precious, as they are unparalleled by those of the artists keeping on western styles. However, Jiang also manages to break through the traditional standard while establishing a found base, connect the cultural estrangement in a modern context, and presents his artistic talents in a reckless spirit. He tries to intensify the strength of ink through selection of media, and creates a dazzling visual tension. He went to Bangladesh looking for jute as his painting media, to practice and realize his vision for the thickness of his works. During his creation, he randomly changes grinded paintings of Han Dynasty and bamboo slips into modern paradigms, through which he presents an artistic mood that is in line with the traditional and modern spirits.

　　蒋山青的杰出在于他有传统的深度，钻研的功力，充沛的才情和勇于开拓的创作劲头，加上他天生具备的理性把控能力，让人时有惊喜。

　　Jiang’s excellence lies in his in-depth understanding of the tradition, great endeavor in study, profound talent, the passion that makes him a pioneer, and the control of sensibility that he was born with, which always turns out to be a surprise.

　　他于每一幅作品，每一处墨迹，每一根线条中，充分的表达心灵的敏感，流淌在图画间的墨和水的渗化如诗般美不胜收，是那样令人真切的感受到东方水墨无穷的魅力以及细节的精妙。

　　Through every piece of his works, ink drops and lines, he fully expresses his delicate mind. The intermingled ink and wash running on his paintings appear to be so poetic and astoundingly beautiful that people cannot help feeling so real for the endless charisma of eastern ink arts and the profound meaning of its details.
